The Opportunity

Join Cleanaway's Carbon team to strengthen enterprise emissions reporting, regulatory assurance and carbon credit value. Reporting to the Head of Carbon, you will connect technical expertise with commercial decisions across a complex national business.

  • Prepare monthly and annual Scope 1 and 2 emissions reporting and Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) calculations.
  • Manage ACCU applications and issuance, working with auditors and government stakeholders.
  • Own assurance and audit programs covering NGERS, ACCUs and Safeguard obligations.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing Scope 3 emissions reporting processes across Cleanaway.
  • Improve the systems, controls and documentation supporting NGERS and Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) reporting.
  • Analyse carbon credit scenarios and regulatory outcomes to inform commercial decisions and value optimisation.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Sustainability and data teams to turn carbon policy into practical action.

About You

You bring a strong technical foundation in carbon accounting and regulatory reporting, backed by the analytical skills and commercial judgement to make complex information useful. You're comfortable navigating detailed compliance requirements, challenging assumptions and influencing decisions across different business functions.

  • Substantial experience in carbon accounting, emissions reporting, energy, waste or decarbonisation.
  • Hands-on experience with ACCU methodologies and administration and/or NGERS reporting and audit requirements.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, including NGERS, ASRS, Scope 3 and assurance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and Power BI for complex emissions reporting.
  • Ability to influence operational, technical and external stakeholders and explain complex findings clearly.
  • Commercial understanding of carbon credits, including how volume and pricing affect value.
  • Experience improving reporting systems, data quality and controls to support accurate, audit-ready information.
